Cumming will see the addition of a new dining and brewery destination in early 2026 with the opening of YAVA Kitchen and Brewhouse on Market Place Blvd. The project is a collaboration between Blue Orbit Restaurant Consulting, an Atlanta-based hospitality consulting group known for its work with concepts like Nine Mile Station, Skyline Park, and Bottles and Bones, and the owners of YAVA who have lived in Cumming for 15 years.

The new restaurant will be part of the Westshore community and aims to offer a food-focused dining experience along with locally crafted beer. The space, designed by ai3, will accommodate over 300 guests and features elements such as warm woods, natural light, cozy booths, high ceilings, and a fireplace. The location is intended to serve families, professionals, and visitors traveling to Lake Lanier.

A wood-fired grill will be central to YAVA’s kitchen operations. The menu is overseen by consulting chef Kevin Maxey, chef/owner of Pendolino in Sandy Springs. Maxey has worked with Tom Colicchio at Craft and previously served as vice president of culinary for Rocket Farm Restaurants under Ford Fry. Joe Alessandroni is leading the craft cocktail program; he brings experience from developing award-winning cocktail programs internationally.

Patrick Padilla has been appointed general manager for YAVA. Padilla is recognized in North Georgia for his management roles at Black Sheep Restaurant and Dogwood Hangout in Blue Ridge.

The brewhouse at YAVA will be managed by Alex Ciaburri, who previously held head brewer positions at From the Earth Brewing Company in Roswell, Cultivation Brewery in Norcross, and Six Bridges Brewing in Johns Creek. The brewery’s offerings will include seasonal releases using quality ingredients for lagers, IPAs, and small-batch dark beers.

YAVA will also launch a Founder’s Club providing exclusive experiences, discounts, and perks to its founding members.
