The U.S. Census Bureau announced on March 19 the launch of USA Trade Online: Reimagined, marking a transition from the legacy USA Trade Online platform.

The update is significant for users who rely on trade data, as the tool has been a primary resource for nearly thirty years. The new version maintains access to the same trade data but introduces a modern and more intuitive interface designed to improve user experience.

One notable change is that users are no longer required to create an account to generate and save reports. Instead, reports can be saved using just an email address, removing the need for password management. Additional features include enhanced navigation by consolidating all report selections onto a single screen, simplified report-sharing capabilities with improved collaboration tools, and redesigned report management options such as custom tagging and dataset filtering.

A user guide is available for those seeking more information about how to use the updated platform. The Census Bureau also stated that the legacy version of USA Trade Online will be decommissioned by June. Users who have saved reports on the old system are encouraged to recreate and save them in the new tool.

No news release was issued alongside this product update; instead, information was provided through a tip sheet.
