U.K. Consul General discusses trade at Gwinnett Chamber-hosted consular event

More than 75 business and student leaders attended the recent Global Atlanta Consular Conversations event, which is part of a series aimed at fostering cross-border collaboration and trust. The program was produced by Global Atlanta, presented by Miller & Martin, and cohosted by the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce and Partnership Gwinnett. Wannamaker Crimmigration Law joined as the newest conversation sponsor.

The discussion was moderated by Trevor Williams and featured Rachel Galloway, Consul General of the United Kingdom in Atlanta. Galloway spoke about the U.K.’s economic resilience, its position in global trade, and its Modern Industrial Strategy. She noted strengths in advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and technology sectors, highlighting that the U.K. ranks third globally for foreign direct investment (FDI). Galloway also pointed to opportunities in the Southeast U.S., expressing enthusiasm for Atlanta’s role in hosting events during the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce plays an important role as an economic driver in one of America’s most diverse counties. It supports more than 2,100 member businesses and focuses on promoting business growth, leadership connections, and building an inclusive economy while providing resources for small businesses and organizing numerous networking events each year according to its official website. The Chamber also partners with Partnership Gwinnett on economic development initiatives that have attracted significant investments since 2007.
