Northside Hospital is offering a series of health-focused events and educational opportunities throughout January to promote physical and emotional well-being in the community.

The month’s activities begin on January 7 with registered dietitian Sara Morris presenting a Wellness Wednesdays webinar aimed at dispelling common myths about dieting. On January 14, there will be two separate webinars: pulmonologist Dr. Angel Brown will provide an overview of pulmonary hypertension, while internal medicine specialist Dr. Walid Hmissa will discuss cardiovascular risk factors and strategies for reducing them.

On January 21, Katie McCarthy and Emma Daniel, CCRP, will lead a session on the benefits of cardiac rehabilitation after a heart event as part of the Wellness Wednesdays series. The following day, Cancer Support Community Atlanta is hosting “Frankly Speaking About Bladder Cancer,” featuring Dr. Andrew Pridjian and Dr. Shailesh Satpute.

For those seeking support to quit smoking or using tobacco products, Northside Hospital offers the Built To Quit Smoking and Tobacco Cessation Course on January 27 at multiple locations. This course covers the dangers of tobacco use, advantages of quitting, and techniques for managing cravings.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Coker Cantrell is scheduled to discuss non-surgical pain management options during the January 28 Wellness Wednesdays webinar.

In addition to these events, Northside Hospital continues to provide ongoing educational classes both in-person and online on topics such as childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, baby care essentials, grandparenting, and CPR training.

Job seekers are also encouraged to attend one of Northside’s hiring events this month.

Looking ahead to February, National Wear Red Day will take place on February 6.
