Northside Hospital has announced a series of health and wellness events for November, offering resources and support to patients, providers, and the broader community.

Throughout the month, Cancer Support Community Atlanta will host a four-week Cancer Transitions workshop. This program is designed to help cancer survivors as they move from active treatment to post-treatment care.

On November 1, healthcare providers are invited to attend the inaugural Northside Hospital Pulmonary Symposium.

Dr. Hannah Potter will present on women’s health issues during the first Wellness Wednesdays webinar of the month on November 5. The session will cover topics ranging from menstruation to menopause.

National Lung Cancer Screening Day takes place on November 8. Northside Hospital encourages individuals to learn more about lung cancer screening eligibility and schedule screenings that could potentially save lives. Also on November 8, Northside is partnering with Sarcoma Strong for the annual Sarcoma Strong 5K Run/Walk at Chastain Park.

Veterans will be recognized on November 11 for their service and sacrifice. That same day, Northside’s Built to Quit Smoking and Tobacco Cessation Course will offer information about smoking hazards, quitting benefits, and coping strategies at multiple locations.

On November 12, two free Wellness Wednesdays webinars are available: Dr. Saresh Akmal will discuss risks associated with mixing medications while Dr. Chris Kim addresses urinary tract infections.

Pulmonary hypertension is the topic of Dr. Angel Brown’s Wellness Wednesdays webinar scheduled for November 19.

In addition to these specific dates, Northside offers ongoing classes covering childbirth preparation, breastfeeding guidance, baby essentials training, grandparenting skills, CPR instruction and more through in-person sessions or online resources.

Job seekers can explore new career opportunities by attending one of Northside’s hiring events this month.

Looking ahead to December, the hospital’s Foundation will hold its #LightsForGood campaign throughout the month starting December 21 with the first day of winter.
