Northside Hospital expands provider network across Georgia communities

Northside Hospital has announced the addition of several new providers and expanded care options across Georgia, as part of its ongoing efforts to increase access to healthcare services in the region.

In cardiology, Northside Hospital Heart Institute has begun offering services in Toccoa. The opening was marked by a ribbon-tying ceremony with Stephens County Hospital and Visit Toccoa at the new office located at 230 Hospital Drive. Dr. Jeff Marshall, an interventional cardiologist, and Dr. Mark Matthews, a general cardiologist, are among those now serving patients at this location.

The hospital system has also expanded its primary and same-day care offerings. Dr. Priyanka Chaudhari has joined Northside Family Practice in Woodstock, focusing on lifestyle medicine and weight management. Dr. Christina Dennis is now with Medical Associates of North Georgia in Canton, bringing expertise in contraception management and women’s health.

Dr. Francisco Echevarria-Santiago has moved to Northside Gwinnett Primary Care in Lawrenceville, specializing in preventive care and chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Also based in Lawrenceville is Dr. Kimberly Fordham at Strickland Family Medicine Center, who focuses on hospital medicine and preventive care.

Other recent additions include Dr. Prem Kumar at Northside Peachtree Corners Primary Care; Dr. Maya Lucas at Laureate Medical Group – East Cobb; and Dr. Stacy A. Stewart at Perimeter North Medical Associates.

In cancer care and blood disorders, Dr. Madhuri Chengappa has joined Georgia Cancer Specialists’ Douglasville and Smyrna offices to provide diagnosis and treatment for cancers and blood disorders. The Blood & Marrow Transplant Group of Georgia welcomed Dr. Hong Anh De Sa to its team along with the Northside Hospital Blood and Marrow Transplant Program.

Dr. Justin Woods is now seeing patients at Suburban Hematology-Oncology Associates in Lawrenceville for general hematology and oncology services.

For endocrinology needs, Dr. Rachel Puttnam is practicing at North Georgia Diabetes and Endocrinology in Cumming with specialties including diabetes management, PCOS, osteoporosis, as well as thyroid, adrenal, parathyroid, and pituitary disorders.

Ophthalmology services have grown with the addition of Dr. Dhara Patel to Atlanta Ophthalmology Associates; she brings experience managing glaucoma as well as retinal conditions.

Laureate Medical Group’s Sandy Springs location welcomed rheumatologist Dr. Ashwini Komarla to its staff.

Surgical care expansion includes the arrival of colon and rectal surgeon Dr. Jennifer Holl at Atlanta Colon & Rectal Surgery; Chattahoochee Surgical Group’s new office opening in Suwanee staffed by Dr. Bryan Whitfield and Emily Baumgartner; plus thoracic surgeon Dr. Ammar Asban joining Northside Thoracic Surgery in Lawrenceville where he will offer robotic-assisted procedures for thoracic conditions.

Women’s health services have been bolstered by obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Aaron Doctor joining Northside Women’s Specialists as well as urogynecologist Dr. Shweta Pai Desai starting practice at the Northside Center for Urogynecology in Lawrenceville.
