Nehemiah Hamilton, CEO and founder of Nehemiah Cares, announced that Amazon matched his donation to a foster care supply drive, resulting in the expansion of the initiative to 7,200 items for children in need. This statement was made on LinkedIn.

“The highlight of this effort was the incredibly generous donation from Amazon who matched the items,” said Hamilton, CEO & Founder, according to LinkedIn. “This brought the total to about 7,200 items, adding thousands of dollars to the donation value! Their support was a game-changer. Through their amazing organization, the items will allow fewer foster kids to struggle.”

According to WSB-TV Atlanta, Hamilton, a Gwinnett County teenager, spearheaded a months-long effort to gather essential items for foster youth. The collaboration with Amazon increased the total number of items collected to approximately 7,200. These supplies were distributed through Because One Matters to support children across Georgia.

Amazon’s 2023 Community Impact Update revealed that the company donated over $96 million in cash and products to nonprofit organizations. These contributions supported various causes such as hunger relief, education access, and housing stability. More than 23 million essential goods were delivered through Amazon’s logistics network.

The company partnered with over 1,500 organizations in 2023 to enhance access to education and basic needs across the United States. Amazon supported schools and nonprofits with supplies, funding, and volunteer engagement as part of its efforts to strengthen underserved communities through direct local support.

Hamilton is also recognized as the CEO and Founder of Nehemiah Cares, a youth-led nonprofit based in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The organization raised over $10,000 within its first three months and is actively pursuing 501(c)(3) status. Additionally, Hamilton serves as Mayor’s Executive Intern and was selected for the Gwinnett Youth Commission.
