The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will hold its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will include community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards ceremony, and a series of panels and workshops. The theme for this year’s convention is expected to be announced soon.

The ILCA supports labor communicators across North America and operates as an allied organization of the AFL-CIO. DeLane Adams, Assistant Communications Director at IAM Union, currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the ILCA.

IAM Communications Department, along with its districts and locals, has received multiple recognitions over the years at the ILCA Labor Media Awards Contest. This contest is noted as the largest and longest-running competition dedicated to labor communications in North America.

Recent IAM Union winners in the 2024 ILCA awards include Angela Colaizzi for the Max Steinbock Award with “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster,” Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team for third place in Best Print Publication with their Summer 2023 issue, and Ross Olson for third place in Best Design – Single Issue Publication.

According to organizers, past conventions have provided opportunities for labor communications professionals from across North America to share best practices.

Registration for the ILCA Convention is open to all interested participants; membership is not required. For more information or to register, visit https://ilcaonline.org/ilca-convention/.
