IAM Union members and supporters of Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC) gathered in Las Vegas for a fundraising event to support the organization’s work. The event, held during the 2025 GDA | TLC Charity Week, included activities such as a sporting clay shoot, race car driving, ax throwing, golf, and a gala dinner.

IAM International President Brian Bryant expressed his appreciation for the turnout and fundraising efforts. “I want to thank all participants and sponsors, especially IAM Union members from different territories, for their commitment to supporting our favorite charity,” said Bryant on behalf of the entire IAM Executive Council.

The Saturday night gala dinner had a baseball theme and brought together over 1,000 attendees. During the event, this year’s “Gift of Sight” awards were presented to David Sullivan, IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President; Arthur Maratea, TCU/IAM National President; and Southwest Airlines.

Speakers at the gala highlighted how service dogs have changed lives. One Canadian military veteran described his experience with his PTSD service dog Oakley.

GDA | TLC provides service dogs to individuals who are blind or living with PTSD or autism.
