As Thanksgiving approaches, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has issued a message to its members and their families. In the statement, IAM International President Brian Bryant expressed gratitude for workers across various sectors who contribute to making holidays possible.

Bryant acknowledged the efforts of farmworkers involved in harvesting food, as well as those responsible for processing, transporting, and stocking it. He also recognized individuals working in transportation sectors such as buses, rail, and air travel. “From the farmworkers who harvest our food, to the workers who process, transport, and stock it… from the men and women who keep our buses, rail, and air travel moving, to those who will be on the job today and can’t take time off – this holiday is built on their hard work and sacrifice. We owe them our gratitude, and we owe it to them to keep fighting for a voice, dignity, and respect on the job,” Bryant said.

He highlighted solidarity among union members: “Every day, across our great union, IAM members are proving what solidarity looks like. Whether you’re on the shop floor, on an assembly line, supporting a sibling on a picket line, or standing strong at the bargaining table, your determination is what keeps this union strong and moving forward.”

Bryant concluded by thanking members for their commitment: “On behalf of the IAM Executive Council, thank you for everything you do. Your commitment to one another, to your families, and to the labor movement is what gives our union its strength. It’s what makes the IAM a force for fairness and a source of hope for working people everywhere.”

The message closed with wishes for a safe Thanksgiving.
