The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will begin accepting applications for its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition on October 1, 2025. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Applications are accepted online.

The competition is open to IAM members who have maintained two years of continuous service and to their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada.

Applicants can access the application forms, eligibility requirements, and further details through the IAM Scholarship Competition page.

In the previous year, more than 300 individuals applied for the scholarship program. Sixteen scholarships were awarded in 2025, each valued at $4,000 per student. Both academic and vocational-technical two-year scholarships are available to qualifying members and their children.

The IAM Scholarship Fund was established by delegates at the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention. It is used exclusively to support these scholarship awards.

More information about the program and how to apply can be found on the IAM Scholarship website.
