The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is inviting locals and districts to honor fallen members by purchasing personalized bricks for the IAM Workers Memorial. The memorial, located at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland, commemorates workers who have died, been injured, or become ill due to their jobs.

The deadline to order a personalized brick is Sunday, March 1, 2026. Bricks can be customized with text and, for an additional fee, with the IAM logo or another preferred logo. Prices start at $100 for a standard brick with three lines of text. Larger bricks are available for $200 and allow more lines of text or the inclusion of a logo. Supporters may also purchase a commemorative tile for $10.

If a local has lost a member due to work-related causes, they can request a complimentary brick in that member’s honor by submitting an order form.

The IAM Workers’ Memorial was completed in 2001 and serves as a lasting tribute surrounded by bricks inscribed with names of deceased members and contributions from lodges and individuals within the organization. Each year, a ceremony is held at the site to remember those lost and reinforce efforts to improve workplace safety. The date for this year’s event will be announced soon.

“Every year, we observe Workers’ Memorial Day to honor the memory of workers who have been killed, injured, or made ill due to their work,” according to the association’s announcement.

To learn more about ordering options or pricing details, interested parties are encouraged to visit the IAM website or use the provided order form.
