IAM Local 318’s Joseph Rumrey, who represents rail workers at Keolis in Boston, recently took part in a leadership training program at the IAM Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

The training session brought together about 14 union representatives from various parts of the United States. The program focused on teaching participants key skills such as writing claims and preparing for legal investigations. These abilities are seen as important for protecting union members.

In addition to individual development, the rail division is prioritizing broader goals like obtaining funding for commuter rail systems and working to expand high-speed rail infrastructure across the country.
