The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Retirees & Membership Services Department held a week-long class at the William Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Maryland. The event focused on equipping members with the skills needed to establish retiree clubs at both district and local levels.

According to the department, this initiative is designed to strengthen retiree activism, offer more resources for retirees, and foster mentorship between retired members and younger union participants. The department encourages those interested in forming an IAM retiree club to find more information at https://www.goiam.org/departments/general-secretary-treasurer/membership-services/.

The program aims to increase engagement among retirees while also supporting union growth by leveraging the experience of former members.
