The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Executive Council encouraged all IAM Districts and Locals on Apr. 9 to identify and approve members interested in attending the 2026 Pride at Work Convention, scheduled for June 2-4, 2026, in Minneapolis.

Pride at Work is an AFL-CIO constituency group focused on promoting equality, dignity, and respect for LGBTQIA+ workers within workplaces, unions, and communities. The IAM said that participating in this event aligns with its ongoing efforts to build a labor movement that values diversity and inclusion.

In a message addressed to the union family, the IAM Executive Council stated: “Pride at Work’s mission reflects what we stand for as a union: building a labor movement that cherishes diversity, promotes inclusion and ensures safety and dignity for all. Guided by the principle that ‘an injury to one is an injury to all,’ we must continue to oppose discrimination in all its forms and strengthen solidarity across our diverse membership.”

The council also highlighted the growth of Human Rights Committees within each District and Local as part of their commitment to welcoming every member into the union. Members were advised that hotel reservations should be made by Friday, May 1, as room availability is not guaranteed after this date. Early registration discounts are available until Sunday, April 19.

For more information or questions about participation in the convention or related initiatives supporting LGBTQIA+ rights within organized labor, members were directed to contact IAM Human Rights Director Nicole Fears.
