IAM District 142 recently held its second annual charity golf tournament at Papago Golf Course in Phoenix. The event was organized to raise funds for Guide Dogs of America and Tender Loving Canines, a charity supported by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM).

The tournament has become a competitive fundraising event among IAM districts. Money raised through the tournament, as well as from games and donated prizes, goes toward training and placing service dogs. These dogs assist people who are visually impaired, veterans experiencing PTSD, and autistic children. All services provided by the charity are offered at no cost.

Staff from Guide Dogs of America attended the event with puppies currently in training. They expressed appreciation for the support received and highlighted the importance of such fundraisers in enabling their work. More information about Guide Dogs of America and Tender Loving Canines is available at https://www.guidedogsofamerica.org/.

Attendees described the event as successful in raising needed funds for service dog programs.
