Gwinnett Technical College has been named a Military Spouse Friendly School for the 2021-2022 academic year by Victory Media. This is the first time the college has received recognition specifically as a military spouse college.

The designation is part of an annual list that highlights schools supporting military spouses, in addition to the company’s regular “Military Friendly” schools ranking. Gwinnett Tech was also recognized as a Military Friendly Gold School for its campus culture that supports veterans.

“Gwinnett Tech understands that spouse and dependents also are transitioning from military to civilian life, and Gwinnett Tech looks to provide resources for them to succeed in this transition. We support veterans and their support system,” said Travis Simpson, Veterans Affairs Coordinator.

The college offers several services aimed at supporting military spouses and families, including priority registration, both on-campus and virtual VA information sessions, a Student Veteran Organization, a Laptop Lending Program, veteran family events, VA scholarships, and a dedicated computer lab.

Military Times ranked Gwinnett Tech second nationwide among career and technical colleges for its commitment to education opportunities for veterans, service members, and their families.

More than 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-2022 survey for Military Spouse Friendly Schools. Of these, 747 earned the Military Friendly School designation; 194 were selected for the Military Spouse Friendly Schools list based on public data sources and responses to a proprietary survey.
