Gwinnett Technical College hosted its first Gryphon Gratitude Breakfast on October 15, 2025. The event brought together over 150 donors, community partners, and students to highlight the role of philanthropy in supporting student achievement.

The breakfast was held on campus and aimed to recognize individuals and organizations that contribute to the college’s mission of delivering career-focused education. Students shared personal stories about how scholarships and support from the Gwinnett Tech Foundation have helped them continue their studies and work toward their goals.

Dr. Glen Cannon, President of Gwinnett Tech, said, “We are honored to host the inaugural Gryphon Gratitude Breakfast as a moment of recognition for the invaluable contributions made to Gwinnett Technical College. Our donors and partners play a vital role in shaping the future of our students and our region. Their long-standing support empowers us to deliver high-quality education, strengthen workforce development, and build a brighter tomorrow.”

During the event, special recognition was given to several long-time supporters: the Scott Hudgens Family Foundation, Peach State Federal Credit Union, Primerica, Georgia Power, Northside Hospital, and the Clarke Family. These organizations were acknowledged for their ongoing commitment to both the college and its students.

Darcie Johnson, Executive Director of the Gwinnett Tech Foundation, expressed gratitude by stating: “Thank you for investing in education and in me.” She emphasized that every donation impacts a student’s life directly.

The event concluded with an encouragement for attendees to reflect on their purpose and consider how they can support others in reaching their goals. The Gryphon Gratitude Breakfast is intended to become an annual tradition at Gwinnett Technical College.
