Gwinnett County Solicitor-General Lisamarie N. Bristol will donate supplies collected during the “Dog Days of Summer” drive to Ahimsa House, an organization in Georgia that supports victims of domestic violence and their pets.

The donation event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. It will take place at the Gwinnett Justice and Administrative Center in Lawrenceville. Representatives from both the Solicitor-General’s office and Ahimsa House are expected to attend.

Ahimsa House is noted as Georgia’s only group dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence escape abuse with their pets. The effort aims to provide needed resources for individuals facing difficult circumstances.

Gwinnett County schools saw enrollment rise by less than 0.1% in the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year, according to data from the Georgia Department of Education (https://www.gadoe.org/). In total, there were 190,044 students enrolled during that period (https://www.gadoe.org/). White students made up 18% of the student body, making them the third most represented ethnic group in Gwinnett County schools (https://www.gadoe.org/).

“Solicitor General Lisamarie N. Bristol is set to donate items collected during the ‘Dog Days of Summer’ drive to Ahimsa House,” stated officials involved with the event.

This initiative highlights ongoing community efforts within Gwinnett County to support vulnerable populations.
