Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office plans temporary closure for active shooter training

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office will temporarily close its front lobby on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for a live active shooter training exercise. The main entrance on Reynolds Road leading into Wimberly Way will also be closed during this period.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the event is a coordinated effort with multiple agencies in Gwinnett County to improve readiness and response during critical incidents. The exercise is designed to be realistic but is only temporary.

“This proactive initiative is part of a coordinated effort among multiple agencies in Gwinnett County to enhance preparedness, improve response times, and strengthen collaboration during critical incidents. This will be a realistic training exercise; however, the Sheriff’s Office assures the community that it is only temporary.”
