Gwinnett County Government has received several national awards for its communications work, including recognition from the Davey Awards and the w3 Awards. The honors highlight achievements in media relations, digital storytelling, and public-sector communication.
At the 21st Annual Davey Awards, Gwinnett County earned two Gold Awards for its productions “Go Gwinnett: Chairwoman Hendrickson at Lookup Flight Academy” and “Upfront Gwinnett: The Hidden Homeless” tease. According to the county’s announcement, these pieces were recognized “for their compelling storytelling and strong impact in elevating key County initiatives.”
The county also won two Silver Davey Awards for the campaign “Day in the Life (Build Your Careers)” and the Gwinnett County Fire Recruitment Ad. These projects stood out due to their “high-quality production, narrative style and ability to connect meaningfully with residents and prospective employees,” according to officials.
Additionally, Gwinnett County was honored at the 2025 w3 Awards with a Gold Award for its State of the County Address. This award cited “strong visual execution and clear, accessible messaging.” The Love-A-Mutt Wedding content received a Silver Award for creativity and community engagement.
Recent data shows that enrollment at Gwinnett County schools increased by less than 0.1% during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year (https://www.gadoe.org/). The district enrolled a total of 190,044 students in that period (https://www.gadoe.org/), with white students making up 18% of the student body—the third largest ethnic group in local schools (https://www.gadoe.org/).
These awards reflect continued efforts by Gwinnett County to communicate effectively with its diverse community.
