U.S. Representative Mike Collins (GA-10) recently met with the Gwinnett Chamber Public Policy Advisory Committee for a business roundtable. The event gave local business leaders a chance to discuss federal issues that affect the business community.

During the meeting, Congressman Collins and committee members talked about several policy priorities, such as tax reform, regulatory reform, and ways to make federal permitting processes more efficient. Collins emphasized the need to reduce federal regulations, especially those related to the Clean Water Act. He shared information about his efforts to improve permitting processes in order to support economic development.

Collins also discussed H.R. 1818, known as the Aviation Workforce Development Act. This bipartisan legislation seeks to expand how 529 education savings plans can be used for expenses required in aviation maintenance and commercial pilot courses. The bill addresses workforce shortages in the aviation industry.

“The Gwinnett Chamber appreciates Representative Collins’ continued engagement with the Gwinnett business community and his commitment to policies that foster a strong and competitive economic environment,” according to a statement from the organization.

Congressman Collins represents Georgia’s 10th Congressional District, which includes Dacula. He serves on several committees: House Natural Resources Committee, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
