Georgia State University achieves high national rankings for multiple online degree programs

Several Georgia State University online programs have been recognized among the top in the nation, according to the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings.

The university’s online master’s in criminal justice program rose 28 places to reach No. 13 nationally. For the first time, the online master’s in nursing, family nurse practitioner program was ranked and entered at No. 8. Georgia State’s online bachelor’s in psychology program achieved a ranking of No. 7, while its online bachelor’s in business administration placed at No. 15. This marks the second consecutive year that both undergraduate programs have been listed among the top 15 nationwide.

U.S. News & World Report evaluated schools based on engagement, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, and peer assessment when compiling these rankings.

Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Nicolle Parsons-Pollard commented on the recognition: “We are proud to see our online programs recognized among the nation’s best. These rankings reflect the intentional design behind our online offerings and our commitment to delivering the same instructional quality, academic rigor and support for student success across the full range of Georgia State’s learning environments.”

Georgia State has also held a distinction as the top public university for undergraduate teaching by U.S. News & World Report for six consecutive years. The university provides more than 85 online and hybrid programs across all academic levels.
