Nearly 300 students from Georgia Gwinnett College participated in The Main Event, an evening that featured bowling, arcade games, pool, and laser tag. The event provided students with a chance to take a break from academic work and engage in recreational activities.

Daniela Fuentes, a first-year health sciences major from Norcross who intends to pursue nursing, described the experience as “Exhilarating! It was an opportunity to go out and have fun with your friends.” She noted that she particularly enjoyed playing pool, a skill she had practiced previously at the college’s game room. “I loved playing pool against my friends and other people there,” Fuentes said.

Denzel Amoako-Agyeman, a management information systems major from Lawrenceville and member of the class of 2028, shared his enthusiasm for the event. “I look forward to this event every semester,” he said. “It’s really an amazing opportunity to enjoy a variety of games, free food, spending time with friends and getting to know my fellow schoolmates.” He highlighted his performance in bowling: “I scored a 104 in bowling, including two strikes! I also enjoyed some friendly competition and winning a few pool games against my friends.”

Zachary Schneider, associate director of Wellness and Recreation for Programming at Georgia Gwinnett College, explained the purpose behind organizing The Main Event. “It’s a way for us to offer something where students can have fun and socialize during the colder months,” he said. Schneider added that the event draws a diverse group of students each time it is held.
