For students at Georgia Gwinnett College, the application period for federal financial aid will open on October 1 for the 2026–2027 academic year. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to access federal grants, work-study opportunities, and loans. Many state and institutional aid programs also use FAFSA data to determine eligibility.

Kimberly Jordan, interim vice president of enrollment management and executive director of financial aid at Georgia Gwinnett College, stated, “At GGC, we believe cost shouldn’t be a barrier to opportunity. Filling out the FAFSA is the most important step students and families can take to make college affordable.”

The college offers assistance with completing the FAFSA form at its Grizzly Welcome Center in building D. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We’re doing all we can to help students and their families navigate the FAFSA application process,” Jordan added.

Students may complete the FAFSA online. The application is free and requires information from both the student and, in most cases, a parent or guardian.

Applicants are encouraged to have Social Security numbers, tax returns, and financial documents ready before applying. Filing early is recommended because some types of aid are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Students should also check deadlines set by Georgia Gwinnett College and state agencies to avoid missing out on financial support.

For more details about financial aid options or help with the application process, students can visit the college’s website or contact the financial aid office by phone or email.
