Brent Meyer has been promoted to vice president and senior economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Research Division, effective December 16, according to an announcement from the bank.
In his new position, Meyer will continue to provide strategic leadership for the Economic Survey Research Center. He will also expand his leadership role on the Sixth District’s monetary policy advising team and help set the strategic direction for the Research Division as a member of its leadership team.
Meyer began his career at the Federal Reserve in 2006 as a research associate at the Cleveland Fed. Since then, he has held several positions including economic analyst, senior economic analyst, and economist. He joined the Atlanta Fed in 2013 as an economist and has served in various policy adviser roles, leading up to his most recent promotion in 2021.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hillsdale College in Michigan and a master’s degree in economics from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
