Gwinnett County District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden will hold a community conversation event called “Carden Connects” on Friday, August 22. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Alchemist on the Divide, located at 550 West Lawrenceville Street, Suite 220 in Duluth.

The gathering is designed as an informal opportunity for residents to meet with Commissioner Carden. Attendees can share their ideas, ask questions, and learn about county initiatives and issues that are important to them.

“Carden Connects” aims to facilitate direct communication between local government and the public. Gwinnett County continues to see steady enrollment in its schools, with less than a 0.1% increase in student numbers during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year (https://www.gadoe.org/). In total, Gwinnett County schools enrolled 190,044 students for that academic period (https://www.gadoe.org/). White students represented the third largest ethnic group in these schools, accounting for 18% of the student body (https://www.gadoe.org/).

Commissioner Carden encourages all District 1 residents interested in discussing local matters or learning more about ongoing projects to attend.
