Gwinnett County District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden will hold a Millage Rate Town Hall on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Shorty Howell Park in Duluth. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The town hall aims to provide updates on the county’s millage rate and give residents a chance to share their views. Representatives from the Gwinnett Tax Assessors Office and the Finance Department will be present to answer questions.

“This event offers an opportunity to learn more about how the millage rate affects property taxes and County services. Residents who are unable to attend in person may watch the event live on the County’s Facebook page,” according to the announcement.

The meeting comes as Gwinnett County schools reported enrolling a total of 190,044 students in the 2022-23 school year, with enrollment increasing by less than 0.1% compared to the previous year (https://www.gadoe.org/). White students made up 18% of the student body during that period (https://www.gadoe.org/).
