Coca‑Cola has played a visible role in American culture and events for nearly a century. In 1985, the company developed a special can for the Space Shuttle Challenger, making Coca‑Cola the first soft drink consumed in space. The company has also sponsored every Olympic Games since 1928 and was the first major corporate sponsor of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, contributing to the event’s success. The tradition of Olympic pin trading began with Coca‑Cola.

Since 2005, Coca‑Cola has marked each U.S. presidential inauguration with limited-edition bottles.

Looking ahead, Coca‑Cola is preparing to participate as a signature partner of America250, which marks the nation’s 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026. The company will help create opportunities for Americans to reflect on their heritage and consider what unites them.

“Through July 4, 2026, they’re helping create opportunities for all 350 million Americans to reflect on our heritage, celebrate what unites us and imagine the possibilities of the next 250 years,” according to a statement from Coca‑Cola.
