The U.S. Census Bureau will release three reports next month detailing income, poverty, and health insurance coverage statistics for 2024 in the United States. The findings will be presented at an online news conference scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. EDT.
The reports—Income in the United States: 2024, Poverty in the United States: 2024, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2024—draw on data from the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC). These documents provide annual national estimates that help assess economic trends and their impact on households, families, and individuals.
David Waddington, chief of the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division at the Census Bureau; Sharon Stern, assistant division chief for Employment Characteristics; Liana Fox, assistant division chief for Economic Characteristics; and Julie Iriondo, chief of the Media Relations Branch at the Public Information Office’s Communications Directorate will participate in presenting these findings. Iriondo will serve as moderator.
A question-and-answer session is planned immediately after the presentation. The Census Bureau intends to make all related reports, data tables, and a news release available through its Income, Poverty and Health Insurance press kit online shortly after the event begins.
The event will take place virtually using Webex by Cisco. Media representatives can ask questions by phone using provided access numbers. Further details about joining are available at https://uscensusevents.webex.com/uscensusevents/j.php?MTID=m7e0f0fe492f905f5dbb5b500a6a5fcf7.
