The U.S. Census Bureau announced on March 10 that it will provide a two-day embargo period for qualified media to access the Vintage 2025 population estimates. The embargo will allow early viewing of total population and demographic components of change for U.S. counties, metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, as well as total population figures for Puerto Rico municipios.

This embargo period is set from Tuesday, March 24 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time until Thursday, March 26 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time. During this time, registered media can review the data before its public release.

According to the Census Bureau, these estimates reflect changes in population between April 1, 2020 and July 1, 2025. Media subscribers are encouraged to visit the Census Bureau’s embargo site to register for access and confirm their login credentials by March 23.

Embargoed information may not be published or shared until the official public release date and time on March 26 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time. Media representatives who wish to interview Census Bureau experts during the embargo period are instructed to email [email protected].

For assistance with embargo access or registration, subscribers can contact [email protected]. The Census Bureau emphasizes that all embargoed materials must remain confidential until the designated release time.
