Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies has named 30 alumni as Alumni Champions. The recognition highlights graduates who have contributed to student success and the school’s academic community through professional achievements and volunteer service.
The honorees include individuals who have participated as guest speakers, panelists, or employers at career events. Their involvement has provided students with mentorship, networking opportunities, and practical insights into public policy and nonprofit leadership careers.
Troy Crittendon, assistant director of Alumni Relations at the Andrew Young School, stated: “The Alumni Champions exemplify the incredible generosity and engagement of our alumni network. These professionals are not only leaders in their respective fields but also dedicated partners in our mission to develop innovative and impactful public servants and create a fulfilling ecosystem for our alumni community.”
Alumni recognized by the program have engaged with current students by sharing their experiences in fields such as nonprofit leadership, public policy, social work, cybersecurity, urban planning, public safety, financial services, and energy. Some have helped students secure internships or jobs at regional organizations.
Onika Richards, director of Career Services and Alumni Relations at the Andrew Young School, said: “When alumni stay engaged with the Andrew Young School, the benefits are mutual. Students gain valuable mentorship and real-world perspective, while alumni strengthen their own professional networks, remain connected to the university community and help shape the future of public service.”
