Amazon has announced the launch of new eero devices, including eero Signal and eero PoE 7. Eero Signal utilizes cellular connectivity to maintain network availability during outages, while eero PoE 7 is a Wi-Fi 7 Power-over-Ethernet access point designed for high-speed, secure connectivity in homes and businesses.

The demand for resilient internet connections has grown significantly as households and businesses increasingly rely on streaming, cloud services, and remote work. According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), U.S. broadband speeds have tripled over the past decade. However, service outages continue to affect millions of customers annually, leading to productivity losses and frustration. Eero Signal addresses this issue by providing 4G and 5G cellular backup to help customers maintain connectivity during disruptions.

Wi-Fi 7 represents a significant advancement in wireless networking, offering faster data speeds and reduced latency compared to Wi-Fi 6. IEEE Spectrum reports that Wi-Fi 7 can theoretically achieve up to 46 Gbps under ideal conditions, supporting bandwidth-heavy activities like gaming, video streaming, and enterprise-grade collaboration tools seamlessly. With eero PoE 7, Amazon provides early adopters access to these advancements while simplifying deployment through Power-over-Ethernet infrastructure.

Small businesses face particularly steep risks when internet connectivity is unreliable. Deloitte’s research indicates that 91% of small and medium-sized businesses consider reliable internet essential for daily operations, with 40% reporting significant disruptions in revenue and customer service due to outages. Eero Signal offers a backup option that enables businesses to continue processing payments, operating point-of-sale systems, and maintaining customer trust even during service interruptions.

Amazon is a multinational technology company operating across various sectors including e-commerce, logistics, cloud services, entertainment, and healthcare. The company employs hundreds of thousands worldwide and adheres to principles of customer obsession, innovation, and long-term thinking. Its subsidiary Eero offers mesh Wi-Fi systems in more than 27 countries, providing customers with simple network setup, enhanced reliability, and built-in smart home support for technologies like Matter, Thread, and Zigbee.
